Welcome to Bernie's Two Minute Friday where we will invite you to take a couple of minutes out from your busy schedule to read about what is happening in the world - all with a St Bernard’s Old Collegians focus.
The St Bernard's Old Collegian Association (SBOCA) is proud to announce the annual grants are open for 2023.
SBOCA has a long history of supporting Old Collegians through these grants, We would encourage all Old Collegians who fit the criteria to apply
Old Collegian Tim Fitzsimmons in late 2022 enjoyed a monumental success, as he was crowned champion in the Singapore Trainers Premiership cup.
A head-to-head battle with Donna Logan for most of the season made for compulsory viewing for all concerned and it was still anyone’s game with just a handful of meetings to go.
In fact, Logan had her nose in front (on more second placings) on turning for home with the pair locked on 56 wins at the end of October. But Fitzsimmons grew wings late with consecutive trebles on November 5, 13 and 19 to secure his first trainer’s title with 65 wins, six clear of Logan on 59.
Well done Tim - A fantastic achievement that showcases the dedication he has to his industry
Old Collegian Patrick Kisnorbo has had an illustrious soccer career spanning more than 20 years, to name a few of his accolades, he has represented Australia, and has played for Leicester City and Leeds United in the English Premier league.
In more recent years, Patrick had stepped into a coaching role with Melbourne City in the A League, bring a wealth of expertise and soccer knowledge with him.
At the tail end of 2022, Patrick made history by becoming the fist Australian to coach in a top-five European men's league, being named coach of Ligue 1 team Troyes
A fantastic achievement that should be celebrated, Patrick has further cemented his place in the Australian Soccer history books, and we look forward to seeing how he develops Troyes throughout 2023!
We are extremely sadden to hear of the passing of our good friend & colleague at St Bernard's, Maureen Kavanagh
Maureen's devoted service to the College has been impactful and significant over so many years, She has always championed the College, St Bernard's had a special place in her heart.
She was especially important to our Old Collegians, I am sure many readers have crossed paths with Maureen to track down photos or memorabilia from years past at the College
Please keep the Kavanagh family in your thoughts and prayers
