Join us later this year as we host a Gala Dinner to celebrate the 60th year of the West Essendon Campus
We are looking forward to hosting as many Old Collegians as possible, we encourage you to bring the family along too!
Make sure to save the date Saturday August 26 - More details to be released soon!
We have been extremely sadden to hear of the passing of Old Collegian Patrick Cronin.
Pat served as a Christian Brother from 1959-2023.
The Cronin family has had a long standing association with the College, with many attending as students.
Pat was passionate about faith & education. He was principal of several schools in WA & SA. He achieved elite qualifications including 2 PhDs, Doctor of Philosophy (Science) & Doctor of Ministry (Theology).
He also lectured & tutored at Universities & had incredible knowledge of Theology, Physics, Chemistry, Geology, and Astronomy. Pat retired as school Principal of CBC Wakefield, Adelaide in 2006 & was then appointed RCIA Coordinator by the ArchBishop of Adelaide 2007-16 & RCIA Coordinator by the Bishop of Port Pirie 2017-18.
Pat finally retired from all leadership roles in mid 2018 & returned to Christian Brother's, Treacy Centre, Melbourne as his health declined. He finally was transferred to Mercy Aged Care 2022-23.
In addition he was an accomplished athlete & coach especially in athletics. He was appointed a Life Member of the Australian Track & Field Coaches Association in 2013. He entered many athletic events including marathons throughout much of his life up until his 70s. He also volunteered for many organisations including St Andrew's Hospital Foundation. He actively supported missions & organised donations of equipment to places such as the Timor-Leste & the Solomon Islands where he helped them set up Science Teaching Labs.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, who admire him for his dedication to our faith, education, sports, missions & community.
Pat's funeral will be held at Parade College, Bundoora Wed 14/6/23 at 11am
Since 2008 through the generous support of the St Bernard’s College community, the Foundation has been able to provide over $650,000 in bursaries and scholarships.
We are seeking your assistance to continue the Foundations important work, which enables the continued support of boys who may not otherwise be able to attend St Bernard's - Its a gift that has a lifetime of impact.

We've added an update personal details page to our website to make it easy for Old Collegians to provide updated contact details to the College. Ensuring your contact details are up to date with the College is essential to continue to receive our publications and invitations to Old Collegian events, such as the Reunions.
We are always on the look out to highlight the achievements & successes our Old Collegians have attained. If you have a story to share, or any feedback to provide regarding what type of content you like seeing in Bernie's 2 Minute Fridays please let us know!
