Welcome to Bernie's Two Minute Friday where we will invite you to take a couple of minutes out from your busy schedule to read about what is happening in the world - all with a St Bernard’s Old Collegians focus.
A tremendous morning at the College today hosting our second SBC Business Breakfast for 2023!
With Simon Madden as our MC & guest speaker Mr Ben Carroll MP, it was a fantastic morning of networking, we also had the opporuntity to gain further insight into Ben's role as a member of parliament and how he continuously advocates for our local community.
It was great to see so many of our community in attendance - Keep an eye out as we are planning on one more Business Breakfast before the end of 2023!
Join us on August 26 as we host the SBC Diamond Dinner to celebrate the 60th year of the West Essendon Campus
We are looking forward to hosting as many Old Collegians as possible, we encourage you to bring the family along too!
St Bernies Old Collegian landed a quinella in Tuesday’s Herald Sun.
Serial letter writer, Rev Kev Burke (SBC 1961) had the first of text talk letters, while his friend & year mate Ray Thompson (SBC 1961 & 1962 school captain) had letter below his. Kevin was pleased the editor got their priorities right!
Kevin has had 57 letters published already this year with the Australian leading the way from Herald Sun & Age.
Kevin’s other ‘’obsession’’ this year has been storming talkback radio, four times one day earlier in year namely Neil Mitchell,Radio National,ABC & Tom Elliott, and on occasion he is on 3AW after 7-30am news with Ross & Russ.
Keep an ear our next time you're listen to one of the above stations, you just might catch him live!
As we start to get towards the business end of the AFL season, lets take a quick look at the current standings for the SBOCA footy tipping competition
As usual its very tight at the top - with only a total of 5 points separating the top ten, and after a few extremely close games over the past two rounds the stage is set for another photo finish!
We've added an update personal details page to our website to make it easy for Old Collegians to provide updated contact details to the College. Ensuring your contact details are up to date with the College is essential to continue to receive our publications and invitations to Old Collegian events, such as the Reunions.
We are always on the look out to highlight the achievements & successes our Old Collegians have attained. If you have a story to share, or any feedback to provide regarding what type of content you like seeing in Bernie's 2 Minute Fridays please let us know!
