Welcome to Bernie's Two Minute Friday where we will invite you to take a couple of minutes out from your busy schedule to read about what is happening in the world - all with a St Bernard’s Old Collegians focus.
A few weeks back, Old Collegian Ben Jolley (SBOC 2003) became just the third player in the VFL/VFA’s 148-year history to reach 300 matches, reaching the milestone during the round 12 game Williamstown’s vs Northern Bullants
Following on from that milestone, Jolley is now the VFA/VFL games record holder. He played his 303rd game early this month to break the record previously held by Billy Swan
An absolutely incredible milestone - Congratulations Ben
Old Collegian & Melbourne City young gun, Max Caputo, has committed his long-term future to the Club, signing a new deal that will see him remain a City player until at least the end of the 2025/2026 season.
Max originally made his debut as a 15-year-old in June 2021, the second youngest Men’s player to appear at A-Leagues level for City.
Following the completion of the 2022/23 ALM season, Caputo made the trip to Portugal with the Australia U18 national team, taking on some of Europe’s best young talent.
He quickly made his mark on the international stage too, scoring against both England and Norway in what was an impressive tournament for the 17-year-old.
A remarkable journey for a young Old Collegian, Congratulations Max, We look forward to following your journey!
