Welcome to Bernie's Two Minute Friday where we will invite you to take a couple of minutes out from your busy schedule to read about what is happening in the world - all with a St Bernard’s Old Collegians focus.
Last Friday, 18 August we celebrated St Bernard's Feast Day alongside the 50 and 60 year reunions for the classes of 1963 and 1973
A tremendous day, we commenced with a full school mass, followed by our Year 11 student leaders hosting a tour of the College for all Old Collegians which culminated in a reunion lunch in the Michael Perrett Pavilion.
It was great to be able to host over 50 Old Collegians for such important milestones, Thanks to all who attended!

This annual event is a community favourite, jam packed with a plethora of guest speakers, raffles, and auctions with an underlying footy theme, hosted at the Moonee Ponds Club.
A brand new event for our community, the SBC Foundation is launching the SBC Foundation Racing Lunch.
With so many of our Old Collegians professionally involved in the racing industry, and many more who enjoy racing in general, we think it's time for a racing themed event, hosted at the Moonee Ponds Club, another fantastic opportunity to connect with other Old Collegians.
Racing commentator and Old Collegian (SBOC 2013) Pat Comerford was appointed this week as United Arab Emirates race caller for the upcoming season.
An absolute fantastic achievement - Many of you will recall we interviewed Patrick in our 2021 November edition of The Strand.
The 28-year-old will move to the bright lights of Dubai in October and be the resident caller at all five UAE racetracks, including the glorious Meydan.
It's a long way from hosting local radio in Alice Springs when he packed up his bags from Melbourne and hadn't even considered race calling as a profession in his early 20s.
Congratulations to Old Collegian Dr Michael Portelli (SBOC 1978) who has been elected the 89th president of the Rotary Club of Essendon, the oldest suburban club in Australia with a rich history of serving the community.
He will continue the club’s legacy of local and international community programs with a focus of serving youth and create opportunities of personal and intellectual growth with leadership awards, scholarships, and participation in the National Youth Science forums and mini-United Nations, whilst fostering connections, diversity, and inclusion.
We've added an update personal details page to our website to make it easy for Old Collegians to provide updated contact details to the College. Ensuring your contact details are up to date with the College is essential to continue to receive our publications and invitations to Old Collegian events, such as the Reunions.
We are always on the look out to highlight the achievements & successes our Old Collegians have attained. If you have a story to share, or any feedback to provide regarding what type of content you like seeing in Bernie's 2 Minute Fridays please let us know!
