Welcome to Bernie's Two Minute Friday where we will invite you to take a couple of minutes out from your busy schedule to read about what is happening in the world - all with a St Bernard’s Old Collegians focus.
We wanted to provoke some reminiscing of years gone by, so we're going to dig into the St Bernard's Archives and fish out some memories! We'd love it if you have photos from your time at St Bernard's and would be willing to send them in to share with us!
By request - The year was 1971, US President Richard Nixon gives Australian Prime Minister William McMahon an unqualified endorsement of the ANZUS alliance, saying that the United States would honour its commitments under the alliance, which he described as one of America's fundamental pillars in the Pacific, Silver Knight wins the Melbourne Cup and Hawthorn defeat St Kilda in the VFL Grand Final.

The College has been deeply sadden to hear of the recent passing of two Old Collegians,
Alan Moule (SBC 1965) 09/08/1947 - 14/02/2022
Passed Away Peacefully February 14, 2022. Dearly loved husband of Josephine. Loving father of Justine, Adrian and Alana, father-in-law of Paul, Amanda and Alexis. Devoted grandfather of Jocelyn, Annabel and Mary. To the world he was but one, to us he was the world.

Passed peacefully, Beloved husband of Toni.
Loved Dad of Matthew, Simon and Nicole and father in law to Alex.

Old Collegian Todd Sinnott (SBC 2010) has been crowned champion of the TPS Victoria presented by Webex after a closing 66 gave him a one-shot buffer over New South Welshman Daniel Gale and Queenslander Anthony Quayle.
An absolute fantastic performance from Todd, a quote attributed to Todd below we feel showcases the SBC spirit, he focused on his game and achieving his absolute best, without worrying about the scoreboard, it certainly paid dividends!
“I said to my caddie ‘I don’t care what anyone else does. I just want to shoot the lowest score that I can shoot, and see where we end up after’. I think that’s a good mentality, playing your own game and making birdies.”
Nick Quinn from Spatium Capital was interviewed by Ausbiz earlier this month to discuss tips for avoiding information overload during earnings season - another fantastic insight into the industry and some great tips for those in the market!
Our newest members of the St Bernard's Community have had a fantastic week enjoying all on offer at Camp Manyung, Mt Eliza
Many of our Old Collegians may remember there time at Camp Manyung, and it has always been a pivotal experience for our Year 7's to provide a sense of belonging at St Bernard's
Some great snaps from the camp below!
