The St Bernard's College Foundation has a proud tradition of offering Bursaries and Scholarships to students at St Bernard's College.
Bursaries help those families who otherwise would not be in a position to send their son to St Bernard's College due to hardship or unforeseen circumstances.
Scholarships reward those who excel in particular fields whether that be academics, sport, or the arts, the Foundation wishes to acknowledge the achievements of these students.
Your contribution to the St Bernard's College Scholarship and Bursary Fund ensures that the College Foundation can continue to support these students. Your donation will have a direct impact on students at the College today and will play some part in shaping the men of tomorrow.
Your gift may also provide you with tax savings. The St Bernard's College Foundation Scholarship and Bursary Fund has DGR status so all gifts over $2 are fully tax deductible. For more information CLICK HERE
On Friday, 3 June we gathered as a College to recognise Reconciliation week, National Reconciliation Week is intended to celebrate Indigenous history and culture in Australia and foster reconciliation discussion and activities.
We also induct our newest FIRE carrier's during this assembly, an acronym for “Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education,” is an initiative through the Catholic Aboriginal Ministry of Victoria.
It was a humbling assembly as we all had an opporuntity to reflect on what we can do better to recognise and support Australia's First Nation's people.
In 2020, Anthony or Moff as he is known to his friends had a series of seizures and was diagnosed with having a brain tumour called an oligodendroglioma. He had awake brain surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible, followed by 12 months of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, the life expectancy from the moment of diagnoses for his type of tumour is currently just 10 years.
He received great treatment and support from the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. In return, he is undertaking a mammoth fundraising bike ride titled the “River to Reef” bike ride (that’s right, on a push bike). He started from the Alfred Hospital on Sunday, 15th May 2022 and headed down to Tidal River before he heads all the way up the east coast of Australia to Cape Tribulation that's over 4,000 kms or nearly 2,500 miles.
Anthony is the younger brother of Garry (’73), Peter (’76), and David (’79).
