Welcome to Bernie's Two Minute Friday where we will invite you to take a couple of minutes out from your busy schedule to read about what is happening in the world - all with a St Bernard’s Old Collegians focus.
We wanted to provoke some reminiscing of years gone by, so we're going to dig into the St Bernard's College Archives and fish out some memories! We'd love it if you have photos from your time at St Bernard's and would be willing to send them in to share with us!
The year was 1989, HECS is introduced with the commencement of the Higher Education Funding Act 1988. Gaby Kennard becomes the first Australian woman to fly non-stop around the world, Neighbours introduces a new look theme song, The AFL Brownlow Medal awarded to Paul Couch, Daniel Ricciardo is born!

With Round 23 of the AFL home and away season in our rearview mirror, the time has come to crown our 2022 Tipping Champion.
It was a another extremely close year, with results only being determined in the final round
Congratulations to Gerard 'Porky' Mahoney who is the SBOCA 2022 Footy Tipping Champion!
Tarkyn24 takes out second place with rockinghorseroad in 3rd in what truly was a photo finish!
Thank you to everyone who has participated this year, as always we do leave the competition open over the finals season for those that want to a compete for the 2022 AFL finals series
Another busy two weeks at the College as we near the end of Term 3 for 2022
On the evening of Thursday, 8 September, Our 2022 Spring Concert took place in the auditorium.
It was a phenomenal showcase of the talent we have at the College, a truly remarkable evening.
Special recognition must be given to our Year 12's who performed as this was there final Spring Concert as St Bernards students.
A massive thank you to the music department team lead by Mr Jack Stewart for organising the night.
On Friday, 9 September, 16 of our bravest students answered the call of the Worlds Greatest Shave and volunteered to have their heads completed shaved as part of the fundraising effort.
Its great to see so many of our students get involved in these important issues - We are very proud of you!
The boys raised over $15,000 - a massive effort!

We've added an update personal details page to our website to make it easy for Old Collegians to provide updated contact details to the College. Ensuring your contact details are up to date with the College is essential to continue to receive our publications and invitations to Old Collegian events, such as the Reunions.
We are always on the look out to highlight the achievements & successes our Old Collegians have attained. If you have a story to share, or any feedback to provide regarding what type of content you like seeing in Bernie's 2 Minute Fridays please let us know!
