The last two weeks have proven to be a settling period for the Year 9’s, as they establish themselves at Resurrection House. I have been proud to see the students approach their classes with dedication and a willingness to do their best. Over the next few weeks, the first assessments of the year will be completed. It has been pleasing to see students utilise the Homework Help before school sessions, and I would encourage more to attend in the coming weeks and as the year progresses.
We came together with the wider College community for the House Athletics Carnival, where the Year 9s once again gave it their all. The feedback from the day from the staff was that the boys conducted themselves to the highest standard. A big congratulations also to the Year 9’s who represented the College at the ACC Athletics carnival on Thursday. Well done boys.
Ash Wednesday provided us with the opportunity to commemorate the beginning of Lent. We participated in a liturgy and gathered in the beautiful Polish Marian Shrine for the first time. Thank you to Olivier, Angus, Sam, Noah, Josh and Marcus who showed great courage and dedication by leading the service. We all reflected on the importance of Lent, with the themes of giving to others, fasting and regular prayer highlighted through this period.
9A conclude their Santa Monica program this week, as do 9H at Urban Engagement. We will be welcoming these students back with an assembly on Monday morning. Good luck to 9B and 9I who next head on their out of the classroom experiences next week. We look forward to hearing about your experiences when you return later in the term.
